Battery Z510 after firmware update

To the moderator , please do not move this post as the previous post that had been mod to a Solved solution preventing the support team from be able to provide help for this issue. I had updated my firmware on March of 2016 when this problem occurs. After the update everything was working fine as usual until recently around last month the same issue occurs again.

Re: Battery Z510 after firmware update

Hello there, the issue that I am experiencing is the battery does not show actual charge on battery mode and it will not warn battery low anymore since it is unable to show the actual charge.

-Laptop is currently on Windows 10 version 1607

-I had updated my battery firmware using Lenovo Battery Firmware Update (LnvBFU v00.65) to the latest firmware.

-Before updating Windows 10 to version 1607, I had experienced the same issue but it was solved by updating my battery firmware. Based on my own hypothesis, the problem occurs again after I updated my Windows 10 to version 1607.

The exact problem I am facing on my laptop is,on battery mode the battery does not show actual charge and it will shutdown when the battery level is around 90% - 70% without showing a low battery warning. When I start charging the laptop again, the battery has drained all the way to 0%.

Re: Battery Z510 after firmware update

Bump,

Does anyone have the latest solution for this battery error, I believe this error is solvable as previously Lenovo did provide a solution that works.

Re: Battery Z510 after firmware update

I'm reposting here my last post in the thread 'Lenovo Z510 Battery Issue'.

Same problem here for the 2nd time. I also updated the battery firmware in March January 2016 and everything was working fine after that. The battery wear level was at about 90% right after the update, then after a few charge/discharge cycles it went down to about 70% and got stable around there until last Saturday (31 Dec).

Indeed, after leaving the laptop off and unused for 12 days, the battery problem came back. Briefly:

- unreliable battery capacity indicator

- unexpected shutdowns

- battery wear level at 110% (!!!) after battery calibration with Lenovo Energy Manager and now stuck at 92%

- current battery capacity stuck at 99%

My OS is Windows 8.1.

Hi there, glad that someone else with the same issue had finally voiced out. I hope that Lenovo Support Team is able to provide a solution for us who are facing this issue once again.

Re: Battery Z510 after firmware update

Hi there, it seems that the support team is not really interested in the battery problem. My situation here is still the same, just noticed that once again the battery wear level is at 110%. Nice. Have you found any solution?

What about trying to ask them via twitter? Maybe they'll wake up.

Re: Battery Z510 after firmware update

Sudden shutdown!
The nightmare is back!
After updating the firmware posted from Majestic solution I was hoping that the problems were over, and instead I was wrong.
A year later we are still here: in battery mode lenovo Z510 turns off itself suddenly and can only be restarted by connecting it to power supply.
It is really frustrating to work with a PC knowing that sooner or later will disappear and all your progress will be lost.
Lenovo is the first manufacturer in the world of PC and is unable to solve a major problem shared by all users who have purchased this model.
I'm really angry because I thought that the problem was solved but that is not so, and in these conditions I can not seem to work.
I hope Lenovo hear these complaints, and as soon as possible (I would say so urgent) will be able to solve, once and for all, this problem.
I hope you can understand our outrage.

Re: Battery Z510 after firmware update

Two weeks later I'm still here to write because I expected to have some news from Lenovo.
I expected to know if Lenovo has confirmed the problem, if they are working on the problem, or if they have no intention of doing anything and I have to keep the failed computer.
Lenovo, if you are there, let's hear why we need you.
I'm waiting for news.
