Battery and Charger Problem With Lenovo 3000 Y410 Laptop

2010-03-24, 6:46 AM

Hi there,

im not sure if this is the right channel for issues with my Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop, but appreciate any assistance rendered :smileyhappy:

My Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop will never charge its battery beyond the 40-50% level. Whenever it reaches around 45% charged, it will automatically cut off the charging, although the charger is still plugged in and power is on. I have to turn off the laptop for the charging to continue, and after a while it will automatically cut off again.

When i remove the battery (with A/C plugged in an switch on), the laptop works perfectly fine, just like any other desktop PC. So i doubt its a problem with the charger.

Is this a battery problem, a hardware problem, or some weird settings that i am not aware of? Thanks a lot.

Anyway i'm using Microsoft Windows Vista.
