Battery drain when powered down Y410P

Well turning off those settings seemed to do the trick. Didnt drain at all during the 4 hours i left it.

So that did the trick. It was more of a driver and settings problem then. Glad this was able to resolve the issue

I hope that trick fixed your problems and thank you magc for coming up with that.

Mine still drained 5% in 13.5 hours, and I dont know if this actually reduced the speed or it was random all along.

Problem is, some of our Y410p ships not with an Intel Wireless LAN.... Mine is a Qualcomm Atheros....

So there are no features that can be disabled with the QUALCOMM chips?

How do you disabled the GTK rekeying for WoWLAN and ARP offload for WoWLAN?

 I ran "powercfg /devicequery" and it only indicated the mouse as using power. I have Qualcomm Atheros Gigabit, Centrino Wireless. Should I enable or dissable "Wake on magic packet" and "Shutdown Wake Up"? 

I charged to 100%, turned off, turned back on after 12.5 hrs and had 5% drain.

Does Windows 7 fix this problem. I/m trying to decided whether or not to return this machine.

Hi texas_ute, try disabling both. As for te other settings, i believe they are ony available on the intel wifi models

i have the GTK rekeying for WoWLAN and ARP offload for WoWLAN settings on the intel centrino; when disabled, are they supposed to cause no internet access? I"ve no idea if they are supoosed to do that or not.
