Battery draining quickly

2015-06-09, 3:07 AM

Hi,

Please help mee....

I bought this replacement battery (Li-Ion) for my Ideapad Z460. It is 6-cell , but it gives a backup of only 1 hr 30 mins. It charges to 100% too quickly and drains off too quickly. But battery working condition is appearing to be proper.

Please suggest a solution. o i have to install any software to expand the battery backup?

Thanks,

Anisha

Hi Anisha,

Welcome to the Forums

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with battery in your Lenovo Z460 laptop.

Try to perform the battery guage reset, to perform go to energy manager, select maintainence and guide and select gauge reset and check for the issue.

Hope this helps. Do post back if the issue persists.

Best regards,

Hi Ashwin,

Thanks for the response.

But the battery gauge reset didnt work at all. Actually, the battery charges to 100% in 1 hour. When it reaches 100%  then in a matter of seconds, it drops to 97% and then it starts showing.."plugged in not charging".

97% gives only 1 hr 27 mins backup.

Please help me out. My battery is brand new (6 cell Li-Ion), just brought last week.

Thanks,

Anisha
