'Battery not charging' problem in 3000Y500 Notebook too!!

Facing the same battery problem with my Y500  7761-47Q  Notebook,the one that many N100ers are facing ( came to know from the other post). It does not charge at all . Runs only on AC Power.

 

I checked the thread solution given for N100 series at  MIGR-69671 but it seems specific to N100 series. Is it applicable to Y-Series batteries too? ( My battery model no. is BATHGT31L6, just in case!)

 

I bought the notebook around 8 months back in India, but have shifted to Germany a couple of months back. I really couldn't get much help on whom to contact here or what to do! badly need some help/directions here pals!

Welcome to the forum.   No, the Y500 batteries are not covered in the tip, although it sounds like your battery may well have failed.   If you are only 8 months into the warranty, you are still covered.  I would try to contact service.

 

Here is the link for the list of appropriate support numbers to call and request a battery replacement.

 

It appears by the list that support does not cover the Y500 in Germany, but support is available in some of the neighboring countries on the list.

The Y500 was never released in Germany and it is therefore unlikely that they have parts / barreries for them. It may be that they can get them, but it might take a little longer than would normally be the case.

Yes, I found that Y500 is never released and  support is limited only for few other series and not for Y500.

 

Please let me know if there is any workaround.
