According to informations from lenovo support site my Y530 was originally equipped with DDR2 Memory "MEM RMN1740HC48D8F-800 800/2GB RAM"
Strange thing is that when i run CPU-Z it discovers DDR2 Memory PC2-6400 400Mhz ??? (not 800)
Why is that. Is it bios matter? I did't find there any memory settings...
PC2-6400 memory types should easly work on 800MHz
I would like to buy 2GB memory in order to have 4GB, but now i dont know what one should i choose to be compatibile and most efficient with oryginal 2GB ?
DDR2 - its clear
PC-6400 (800 or 667)
CL6 or CL5

DDR2 800 PC6400 is your choics. CL5 is better than CL6.
DDR2 800 is Double Data Rate 2 with efficient rate of 800 MHz.
It's real frequency is 400 MHz but it does twice work on every cycle so it is named after it's effecient rate, not real one.
All software will sohw it as DDR2 800 runing on 400 MHz.

Since when does the y530 have DDRII memory, where did you buy it from?
Make sure the seller listed the specification right, becasue even newegg lists it as having DDRII although it has DDRIII
If DDRII then what skripatch said is true....
Good luck !
Edit: Never mind! I did not realize that some earlier models had DDRII, sorry!
