Cable broken or may be unplugged - y510P

Hi! I own a Lenovo y510P which I bought approximately 3 years ago. When windows 10 was released, I received an automatic update prompt. So I updated to Windows 10. Since then (at least the timeline coincided) my wifi connection has been intermittent. I get a red asterisk and on attempting to troubleshoot, the message ' broken or unplugged' is shown.

I have tried almost everything - uninstalling and installing the driver, changing the power settings, updating drivers.

After some research, I believe the problem arised due to the OS update. Lenovo apparently has not released any drivers for WINDOWS 10 for the model y510p (extremely embarrassing, my laptop's 75k and no driver update?). So my drivers aren't compatible with the current OS probably. What should I do now? Factory reset would mean going back to Windows 7. I really want to use 10. Could you please help me out? Any 3rd party drivers? In case I can use 3rd party drivers could you please provide links from where I can download these?

Thank you very much.

Hi pranavdheram and welcome to the community,

You could try to contact the network card manufacture and see if they have a driver which is compatible. I can't provide you with a link as these machine were sold with different configuration.

Hope this help you and let us know how you get on
