Can't Disable Horizontal Scrolling & Mousepad Issues on ideapad Z570

I turned my laptop on this morning, and all of a sudden every time I try to move my mouse anywhere, it just tries to scroll horizontally instead. Horizontal scroll has never been on before, and when I go to the control panel, it says that it isn't even enabled. I tried enabling it, and then disabling it, but still the same thing. 50% of the time now that I am using my mouse it's either not responding well/jumpy or it's scrolling horizontally instead. Any ideas?

Re: Can't Disable Horizontal Scrolling & Mousepad Issues on ideapad Z570

hi ashleighjoy2007,

This sounds like an imminent failure on the Touchpad. Can you try one of the following:

1. Boot in Safe Mode and observe the touchpad functionality. In this mode, Windows will use a generic driver. if it's a driver issue, the touchpad should work fine on a generic driver.

2. Press the OneKey Recovery Button and on the recovery screen, try to use the touchpad and observe its behavior. If the problem remains, the touchpad is most likely faulty.

Let me know how it goes.
