I’m sorry hear about the situation and I suggest you to install the display drivers provide in our Support Website and not update it from the Manufacture website and please let me know if the issue persists. Below is the link to download the driver from our support website.

Please I am having this problem with my p500 ideapad. May I please have a solution for this? The light is extremely dim and is hurting my eyes terribly.

I’m sorry to hear that the same issue has occurred in your P500 Laptop, I suggest you to install LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) and the display drivers in the computer according to the relevant OS (Operating System) installed. Below is the link to download the same:

Hi, I seriously need someone to take a look at this.
My Brightness Controller via F11 and F12 Keys on the Notebook KB nor the Brighness Controller from the Controll Panel and the Charms are all NOT WORKING after I have updated to Windows 8.1.
Notebook Model: Lenovo Ideapad Z400 Touch
Model Name: 20220
OS: Windows 8.1
H/W: Intel HD4000
I already tried re-installing the 3 Drivers given in :
but still the same, eve tried to followed other alternatives mentioned on the same post but I still have the same issue. Per the last post, this seems to be an incompatibility issue with the display driver and the WORKAROUND was to downgrade to version 10.18.10.3277, which has already been a year since the issues surfaced, so it would be just proper to HAVE AN OFFICIAL FIX FOR IT BY NOW.
I even went ahead on the Official Intel website to and tried BOTH using the Auto Detect the Display Device I have and give me the most latest driver, which gave me the version 18.104.22.16821 released last 05/21/2014, whihc resulted in an error that my device it not yet validated for this driver version.
So I went ahead al tried the install the version the have most nearest to the OLD 10.18.10.3277, and got the version 22.214.171.124.3496 released last 03/11/2014 and I still get the same error message and I quote: "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer".
So I visited your site: http://download.lenovo.com/express/ddfm.html
I selected the filters to get me:
IdeaPad Z400 Touch Notebook - Display and Video Graphics - Windows 8.1
And again, I am given the same version which is 10.18.10.3277, but sure why not right, so I retried again, both the Intel then the Lenovo Energy Management App, but still the same.
Please tell me that you already have a fix for this, as the issue is already about ONE YEAR OLD.

I just experienced the same problem.
On my laptop (lenovo y510 SLI) when it is running on a single video card (NVIDIA) the brightness levels can be adjusted but it can't be when it is on SLI (both graphics cards are turned on).
Can, please, somebody tell me how to fix this as it is really annoying.
Installing the softwares that were listed didn't help.

I had the problem with the brightness in my idepad z400 and I installed de Intel Video Driver for Windows 8.1suggested here and after the instalation the screen stoped working and now it just blink and you can only see the cursor.
