Caps lock and Num lock LED

Hi Guys,

New to the forums and to Lenovo laptops, I purchased my Z500 Ideapad 2 days ago and I experienced an issue with it rite away, the LED for the Num Lock and Caps Lock doesn't work, the key works fine (it allows me to type in capitals) but the LED doesn't light up. Anyone seen this problem?

Thanks Smiley Happy

Re: Caps lock and Num lock LED

hi Sheppy1,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Are we looking at the same model?

   http://www.gadgetsmagazine.com.ph/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Z500_White_standard_01.jpg

This models does not have Caps and Numlock LED, the two in the front are for power and Battery LED.

Let me know your findings.

Regards

Solid Cruver

Re: Caps lock and Num lock LED

Hi,

I have the z500 touch, that picture appears to be the standard z500. Mine definitely has the LED lights on the caps lock and num lock keys as there are little white circles on them where the LED should light up.

Re: Caps lock and Num lock LED

hi sheppy,

Can you try uninstalling Lenovo Energy Management under Control Panel / Programs.

then Reinstall it using the Back up on your D: drive.

Power it on  then right away start pressing FN+F2

It will load the BIOS set up utility

-Press Fn+ f9 for loading defaults the Fn+ f10 to save and exit.

If that did not bring back the Indicator LED, I suggest you contact Technical Support for Assistance.
