Hi JS43,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

SATA SSD is not offered with Z50-75 initially but it does not limit users to maximize the performance of their machine. Even it was not guaranteed by OEM, you should be able to replace your storage to Crucial's offer

Do always review return options for third party products as always advised.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Hi JS43,

Greetings.

Generally, you should be able to replace it with a SATA SSD. Crucail would even say guaranteed compatible, so we can assume that they have tested it with the same model.

Regards

I have a Lenovo mod Z50/75 notebook with S.O. Windows 10 Home 64- bit, version 1809 build 17763-437, I would like to periodically scan online, with an antivirus program, via USB pendrive, I ask how I can enter the BIOS to give the right commands, to scan. Thank you for your suggestions. With reference to the previous topic, all fixed, now I ask for more collaboration for the BIOS. JS43

yes it is possible to change hdd with ssd but if it dont work straight away then you need to follow this process

make a windows 10 usb with ( windows 10 media creation tool ) using the laptop you wish to upgrade to ssd so it gets all the correct files it needs for laptop search net for media creation tool.

upon trying to install if it says load drivers, this is because your hard drive is not recognised with windows installation

step 1: while in windows screen for new install select repair instead of install

step 2: go to advanced repair

step 3: select command prompt

step 4: Type diskpart.

step 5: At the DISKPART prompt, type list disk. Note the disk number you want to convert.

step 6: At the DISKPART prompt, type select disk <disknumber>. so if your disc is listed as disc 0 enter ( select disc 0 ) press enter

step 7: At the DISKPART prompt, type clean.

Running the clean command will delete all partitions or volumes on the disk.

step 8: At the DISKPART prompt, type convert gpt.

step 9:close commonad prompt reboot sytem and try install again worked for me hope it works for you

just a note after each step itf successfull it will auto take you back to DISKPART prompt so each step should be to type what is in red then press enter
