Re: Disable Headphone Jack ?

Vista Y 550 ...Headphone jack broken  (was plugged in ,cord tripped over,  outer ring visibly cracked ) ...

Wondering if there is a software fix to disable headphone input , while keeping speakers , USB headphone working

Interesting note . I've discovered that while resting hand/or even one finger  just to the right of right click button on pad (directly under the ALT key ) I am able to trigger the  "INFORMATION - You just unplugged a device from the audio jack " Message

removing my hand / finger tells me I have just  "Plugged in a device to the audio jack"  ...I suspect a piece of the headphone jack is loose in there somewhere .

A USB headphone works ,but if it gets unplugged it doesn't always work immediately after plugging it back in ...

Speakers work if my finger is resting on the sweet spot below the ALT button , but cut out as soon as the machine thinks a headphone has been plugged in  (when I remove my hand from sweet spot )

Any help greatly appreciated ....

Re: Disable Headphone Jack ?

On some laptops, the headphones jacks comes like a braket (not integrated to motherboard).

Maybe you need to open your laptop and unplug this bracket.

Best regards.
