Dolby Home Theater v4 not working properly! Please help!!

2014-03-02, 20:22 PM

Good evening,

I have problems with dolby home theater on ideapad y500 in windows 8.1,

It normally works and you can watch demo, everything except one important problem ... since i have installed audio driver for windows 8.1, i can say that bass is missing - without headphones or external speakers you cant hear difference, but when i plug in a jack for example headphones, i cant hear bass. I know this problem happend when i installed audio driver for 8.1 - when i had windows 7 dolby was OK! Could you please make a fix for example please? Thank you,

Vratislav Rusz

hi VrataCZ,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

The Dolby Software and the Audio driver should match and sync.

This normally happened after upgrading the system to WIndows 8.1 that updated the driver but left the dolby Software on original Version.

I suggest you Open Device manager and Uninstall the Audio Driver. (make sure to place a check on delete driver software prompt to rid of the driver completely from your system).

Then Open Control Panel / Uninstall a program and Uninstall all Dolby Component

then delete the Driver Backup under C: / Driver folder.

Now Download the WIndows 8.1 Audio Driver and Install it

for your Systsem, Here it is  Realtek Audio Driver for 64-bit Windows

After Extraction and Installtion completely,

this will Creata a new back up under C: Driver folder.

Open that and find the DolbyGUI folder Open that and you'll find the Dolby Install that matches your Audio Driver

Hope this helps

Cheers!

I have a p500 and i'm having the same issue.

I followed the steps you gave and it still won't work for some reason.

My audio works fine but the Dolby program does not work. None of the sliders adjust any of the sounds, it actually makes no difference at all.

When I do try to reinstall the Dolby HT, it gives me an error message saying that the Dobly driver version is the wrong version.

PLZ HELP!
