Dolby Home Theatre V4

2013-10-04, 17:00 PM

I don't know if this has been answered before, but when I plug in USB speakers, Dolby Home Theatre is not activated.  Does it only work with the internal speakers and speakers using a 3.5mm jack plug.

Are there any settings in control panel / sound.

hi Jaycee70,

The Dolby Home Theater technology on these models are attatched to the Sound Device(Realtek or Conexant).

Your USB Speakers might not be a normal speakers but an External Sound Device.

Verify this by opening Sound properties window.

Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Sound

It should  look like this, under Playback Tab

                 Capture.JPG

If your USB speaker is a  being  detected as another sound device, It will appear here,

that way the Dolby will not be able to communicate and thats why it is turning off.

Regards

Solid Cruver

Yes thank you Solid Cruver you are correct.  I've also just noticed in ' Surround Virtualizer' ' in Dolby Home Theatre the checkbox says  ' Built In speakers '

We say theatre...you say theater..:smileyhappy:
