Dolby surround sound and standby/sleep

I just got a y550 with windows vista on it and I was wondering does the Realtek HD Audio Manager have to be on in order for the dolby touch button to open up the dolby control center, because i disabled the realtek manager from starting up with the machine and when i press the touch button it doesnt want to open untill i open the realtek manager is open then it will open with no problem, i just dont like having 2 speaker icons open in the taskbar.

Also is there a standby mode on this computer all i see is sleep and hibernate, i dont believe i have hibernate active but after awhile the computer will turn off and then when i hit the power it will say resuming windows

Re: Dolby surround sound and standby/sleep

dolby drivers comes with realtek. it needs to work properly realtek is activated.

to disable the icon open realtek audio manager click info"i"and unchecked the system tray icon.

for hibernate, you may need to edit your power management settings.
