Enable biometric login support on Windows 10 X64 in Windows 2016 domain

2019-02-02, 18:56 PM

When I bought my ThinkPad P72, the biometric login via face recognition and fingerprint was enabled and working. After adding the laptop to my current 2016 Windows domain, the biometric login has been disabled.

Does anyone know the settings to re-enable via the laptop local domain policy without having to reconfigure the domain controller server?

Hi Dmgs,

Welcome to the community forums.

When joining in a Domain, Windows Group Policy takes over. Try the steps listed on https://support.lenovo.com/lv/en/solutions/ht080824 (steps also works on Win10)
-          If same issue, check this article:

That worked - thank you!

Only different approach that I took was to add the new registry keys direct with REGEDIT (after making a backup first!) instead of building a separate file as suggested in the message.
