Error when trying to find Bluetooth driver (windows Update)

2017-02-20, 8:38 AM

I got an ACTON bluetooth audio device whilch I was able to couple flawlessly with my iPhone6s+ and other iphone devices.

But trying to connect it to my Y70 touch resulted in an error.

Also I cannot retrieve any driver information from the hardware manager.

What is installed looks like the Intel 4.0 Bluetooth driver 17.0.1414.3

Any clues?

You do not give the OS you are running or your complete model info, but go to http://pcsupport.lenovo.com, let the site detect your systems serial number to get the correct model, make sure the correct OS is chosen, and download the latest Bluetooth driver installer, and save it somewhere easy to find.

Note:  I am going to presume you have a Y70-70 Touch running Windows 8.1, for which the site shows Bluetooth Driver (Broadcom, Intel, Realtek) for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - Lenovo Y70-70 Touch (version 17.0.1414.3) as being the latest driver available.

Once downloaded, open Device manager, expand the Bluetooth section, right click on the Bluetooth device, and select Uninstall; making sure to check the box to "delete the driver software for this device" and then press OK.

If prompted to reboot do so, and then install the version 17.0.1414.3 Bluetooth driver that you downloaded previously from Lenovo.

Hopefully a fresh install if the Bluetooth driver will solve your issue.

It's Windows 7 Pro SP1 (I removed the original disk drive with the preinstalled Win 10  and installed a 1TB SSD and had moved the Windows 7 with all software from my previous DELL Inspiron 9400 (using SYSPREP). I had to install all drivers from Lenovo after that, but everything is working fine for a couple of months now, despite of Bluetooth.

Will do the reinstall as you described.

EDIT: OTOH, blue tooth Lenovo mouse is working.

I did a reinstall of the driver. Went into devicemanager->Bluetooth and deinstalled it.

Rebooted. Windows update was invoked immediately and drivers were loaded:
