Today I have installed a SSD drive on my IDEAPAD Y500,
In a few days I will upgrade the memory stock (8 gb) to 16 gb.
And I want to know If I can install W10 pro on Y500.
I was looking on the support and there is a lot of information and software for this laptop to w10.
I want to install it directly from lenovo,
Is any chance to do that?
Is everything working fine on w10?
Any help or suggestion please?

People do run windows 10 on Ivy Bridge CPUs (like yours) and older ones. I suggest keeping your old drive as a backup and install a new image from microsoft onto an empty drive. Run windows update to get all the updates and then get Lenovo Vantage from the microsoft store to get driver updates. If you have problems, you can put your old drive back in and be back to where you started.

I instaled w10 pro on Idepad Y500.
The difference is incredible!! much much faster than w 8.1.
Also, I use a third-party software (driver easy pro) to upgrade all the driver software.
The machine runs like new, faster and everything looks great.
I have the original configuration (I7, 8 Gb) but I have installed an SSD Kingston 500 gb drive).
In a few days, I will receive 16 gb to install it...so I believed everything will run faster.
If anyone has doubts ... install it!!
