The default behavior of F1 through F12 keys on the z500 are set to perform laptop functions like mute, turn sound or brightness up and down and so on.
Is there a way to reverse the way F1, F2.. F12 keys work, so they work like on any other regular keyboard.
I use the basic functionality of the F-keys all the time, when renaming files, searching and so on, and I would like to be able to use them without having to press "fn" every time.

Hello, have you found any solution for this issue?
Anybody can help?
I can Imagine that's a feature to disable on BIOS, but I couldn't find anything related to FN keys
Thanks you guys

So I understand it so that the only solution is to use external software like softkeys.
I would like to ask Lenovo staff to add this feature into their next BIOS update. For me this reverse behavior of functional keys is a major annoyance working with my Z500.

No new BIOS so far. I guess all we can do now is hitting "I have this question too" in this and similar threads for other models:
