Graphic Card Problem

Hello recently i have been experiencing BSOD's that are connected to graphics/display, so i just went on forums and tried some fixes, but they didn't help. As i was using W10 i decided to go back to 8.1 and see if trouble remains, and it still does. after trying different drivers i am out of ideas but then friend suggested to try this app for scanning my computer.

So i am guessing something physically happened to my video card, i still have sellers warranty for around 6 months, if i open it to check it out will my warranty be violated? or should i just bring this to the seller and have them deal with this instead?

This what i get when i try to go to nvidia control panel.

Re: Graphic Card Problem

Hi vykis ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Don't open the machine just yet as it may void some warranty you had with the reseller .

What you can try doing at this point is to back up all your files as you may want to clear out your information inside the machine first before sending it out specially if you have already tried uninstalling the display driver and reinstall both display and chipset driver from the support site.

Performing a full factory reset using One Key Recovery (page 23) would be deleting personal information and can reimage the software to defaults thus isolating if BSOD is related to any software issue . If after factory reset and you still have the same error then it would be agreeable to get the warranty service check further.

To access OKR reset , turn off the machine and use the Novo button (item 14 page 82) to power on .

System recovery from initial back up would be able to reset the laptop to its default factory image.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how it would work best for you.

Regards

Re: Graphic Card Problem

Hi vykis ,

Don't forget to get your files needed as One Key Recovery may certainly result on data lost during reimage.

Another thing is to set drivers update to never update from windows automatic update so that you would have control on how the updates are done .

Regards

Re: Graphic Card Problem

Hi this is vykis, i cant login to my real account for some reason.

I cant access OneKey, if i use novo button when booting and select system recovery it just starts windows normally. my model is y50-70, any ideas why is that, or other ways to do it?

P.S when i had windows 10 i did factory reset, is it the same? because it didnt help either.

Re: Graphic Card Problem

Hi vykis / sdahnfjnvasdevb

Greetings.

System Recovery from the Novo Menu suppose to lauch option One Key Recovery from initial backup to factory reset.

As there were previous changes , we are hoping that the partition or hidden partition was not changed in the process.

Do you see any option within Windows to launch one key recovery within windows similar to this. check on listed programs for One key.

You can also try reset or refresh within Windows and check if having the same issue.

Do note that if same issue after this steps that you need to inform you warranty service provided so that they can better check and do neccessary intervention.

Update us soon as convenient.

Regards
