Hello Lenovo Community,
I want to buy a Lenovo IdeaPad Y500, but I have searched in the internet and found some problems that really worry me. First of all, I am worried about the touchpads. I have found that Lenovo uses two kinds of touchpads for their Y500 models. One of them is called Synaptics which doesn't have any problems, but the other one, Elan, most of the time slows down and moves without touching the touchpad. Secondly, I have learned about a problem with the keyboard - when you press a button, it is actually pressing more than one buttons at a time.
PS: I woud really appreciate if someone would answer my questions. Are the problems that worry me real or just fake ? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Forums.
The Y500 Touchpad issues has been identified and a solution was provided in this article. AFAIK, newer Y500 comes with the Synaptics touchpads already.
The keyboard issue though is something new to me. I've searched around and found this thread which is dated back last January. I can't re-create the issue as there's no available Y500 here in the lab but If you're interested in this unit, try to check out some stores that has a showroom (display models that are available to customers to play around with). From there, you can have a look and feel of the unit and check its functionalities before you decide to purchase it.
