Help with Lenovo Z580 low fps..

So i have Lenovo Z580 with

4GB DDR3 1333MHz
I5-3210M
Nvidia GT 630M 1GB DDR3
500GB HDD
Windows 7 Home Basic

So I think that my gpu(GT 630M 1GB DDR3) is throttling because Any game starts good with fps.. for example BFBC2 at first runs with 55+ FPS... but suddenly after few minutes like after 30 minutess it gets very hot(80-90 celsius) and fps drops near 35 fps.. then i disconnect the power adapter then reconect it then again i get high fps(50-60) for a few seconds then again low fps... so what the heck is the problem.. i think that its throttling.. any ways to fix it??

Hi sapsm9,

Thanks for posting!

Your system might be triggering the Intel Turbo Boost Causing you system to heat up.

This is how you'll get to the settings

 Open Control Panel

               / Hardware and Sound

                    / Power Option

/ On you selected Power Plan Click on the Change plan Settings

Now click on Advanced Power Settings and look for this option and set both AC and On Battery to 99 %

          Capture.JPG

Try Changing the Maximum processor state to

    On Battery:  99%

    Plugged in:   99%

Hit Apply and hit OK

This will halt the Intel Turbo boost from kicking in and over heating that's possibly throttling down the GPU/CPU performance.

Let us know you findings.

Regards

Solid Cruver
