How can I know if it's an IPS panel?

Hello Everybody, i recently bought a y50 and i want to check if my y50 really haves an ips panel.

Beside looking at the panel at different angles, how can I check if it is an IPS panel.

Is there somewhere in the laptop like in some kind of system specs where I can go and look.

if theres no specs that can tell me is there a program i can download to check

Thank You

Re: How can I know if it's an IPS panel?

hi BennyCast,

One way to identify the type of panel that you have is via its model number.

Try to:

1. Download and install HWINFO or AiDA64 Extreme to identify the model of the LCD panel that's installed on the system.

   - Sample image

2. When finished, search the LCD panel on the web together with the word datasheet or ovewview (eg., LP140WD2-TLB1 overview) and check the type of display mode that the panel supports.

Sample items:

LP140WD2-TLB1 - TN Panel

LP156WF3 (SL)(B1) - IPS Panel
