How to Modify Trackpad Settings?

2014-06-01, 13:34 PM

Hi,

I've had a Thinkpad before but now I have an Ideapad Y510P. The Trackpad seems different. The left and right mouse buttons are built into the track pad, so when I try to click them, if I drag my finger at all, the mouse moves. I believe my old Thinkpad had isolated buttons so this wasn't an issue. Is there a way to disable or lower the sensitivity of the Trackpad at the buttons so this stops being an issue?

Hi Anubis512,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

To access the trackpad settings please click on start button and then type “Control Mouse” and select the option or click on control panel>Mouse to access the trackpad settings.

Do post us back for further queries.

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar

That is not the problem. The problem is with the buttons on the trackpad. Instead of being buttons, they're also part of the touchpad and so if you click the button, the cursor may move slightly and it's annoying. Is there a way to disable the touch sensitivity of the buttons?

There is a way to disable the area over the buttons but you can't do it with Lenovo drivers. You need to install drivers directlly from the manufacturer. Check if you have synaptics or elan touchpad. If synaptics PM me for help.

Hi Anubis512,

As informed by “weregoingunion”, I also suggest you to download the latest driver from the manufacturer website and check for this customizing option.

Hope to hear back soon

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar
