Hi there. You can upgrade your hard drive to a SATA SSD, like this one: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ideapad-y470/CT11308433

You can get any 2.5" SATA SSD from any reputable brand like Samsung, Crucial, Seagate, Sandisk, etc.

Hope that helps.

I found this video that might help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC863LDQs5E

And here is the hardware manual for your machine. On page 37 it gives you instructions for changing the hard drive: https://download.lenovo.com/UserFiles/UserGuide/en/User's%20guides%20and%20manuals/Y470Y570/Lenovo%2...

Hope that helps!

Re: How to add SSB internal desk to Ideapad Y470(brought 2011)?

You'll have to replace the existing HDD with the SSD since your laptop only has one slot for storage.

You would need to re-install the operating system if you replace the HDD with an SSD, but you can also clone your current hard drive to transfer everything over, including the OS. No need to worry about the Windows license since that's all done digitally now.

I recommend EaseUS for cloning, here's a link: https://www.easeus.com/backup-utility/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-disk-without-reinstalling-wind...

Hope that helps!
