How to change LED configuration on Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-70

Hi, i have a Lenovo Idea Pad Z50-70 (59432060). As you might know, it has only two LED indicators and no HDD indicator (unfortnately). One for the power and the second one for battery which seems to overlap. The battery LED is practically the same with only a slight infrequent blinking while charging while it turns orange once the battery is bellow 20%. I think that was really poorly thought. You need to stare at the LED for some time to understand whether it is really charging  or not.

I was wondering, is there a way to reconfigure it to remain all the time orange while the computer is charging, so that i know when it's done and maybe put the blinking at bellow 20% level i.e reverse the two? Any ideas?

Thank you.

Re: How to change LED configuration on Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-70

Hi BorealMind ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

There is no option to reconfigure this set up in both BIOS and machine since this is pre programmed from the factory with the EC (embedded controller) on each laptop model.

Battery status LED indicator from solid white to blinking to amber to slow bink and fast blicks are status that you can check as per notification  on the hardware manual (page 29).

Hope this help answer your query.

Re: How to change LED configuration on Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-70

Well, thank you for your reply. But i have to say that this whole LED configuration really sucks. It's totally confusing and poorly thought-out. It was better to exlude the battery LED altogher and put a HDD indicator. Honestly, that's the only drawback i can find on this Lenovo model.

Re: How to change LED configuration on Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-70

Hi BorealMind ,

Greetings.

Thanks for your thoughts and good to know that in terms of performance , your machine is doing ok.

As per initial query , the hardware manual would be handy in terms of status indicators due to factory configuration for the design model.
