How to distinguish Y570 with 3x 2.0 USB and 2x 3.0

Hello,

couple of years ago we bought a Lenovo Y570. Recently we got an external HDD disk capable of 3.0 USB speed but we were not able to achieve USB 3.0 speed.

During the investigation we found out that:

  • our notebook does not have blue ports
  • even after reisntallation of USB 3.0 drivers the driver application says No USB 3.0 Hub Controller found.
  • Reading technical specification on the internet, apparetnly there are two versions of Y570
    • with 3x USB 2.0
    • with 1x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.0

Is there any way we can find out which version is ours (serial number,..) so that we know if this is the reason or to try mode driver toning?

Thanks

Hi Kilkas ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Aside from the color code for USB ports , best way to know more of the specification of your model is using the machine number then checking on the parts and cross referencing it with the hardware and user manual

Taking note of your particular model number to match it from the product specification document .

Keeping your serial number confidential , you may check on the machine number from the sticker or from here

Update us .

Regards
