I have a P500 and the wireless printing works fine. When I try to use the wireless scan function, the camera video always pops up. How to I correct this?

If you're using the program that came with the printer to do a wireless scan, it's possible that it's not detecting your wireless printer, but instead, it detects the camera and opens it to scan an image (take a picture).
Can you try this method:
1. Ensure there's a picture / document on the scanner
2. On the computer, press the Windows logo key +R > type mspaint and press enter.
3. On mspaint, click on the dropdown file menu and choose From Scanner or Camera
3. A window should pop-up. Choose your wireless printer/scanner on the list and it should start scanning
4. When down, click on the dropdown file menu and save the picture.
Hope this helps

If the scanner is not detected wirelessly, perhaps the software/driver isn't installed properly. If you connect the printer to the laptop via the USB, are you able to scan using the printer software? If not, you may need to re-installi the scanning utility for the printer and reconfigure it.
Also, are all other computers able to scan wirelessly? (if not, I recommend you contact the printer manufacturer to reconfigure the scanning feature of the printer/scanner).

Which device are you trying scan from, what's it called?
I have an HP CM1017 multi function which, because it's a little older, in order to use the scanner over network with Win 7 or Win 8 I have to install the HP Vista software drivers in compatability mode
