How to turn on (not off) the on-screen displays on Y580 -- IdeaPad

My Y580 orginally displayed screen notifications for changes in NumLock and CapLock, but now only the status lights work.  How do we turn the screen notifications back on?  I don't know why it stopped working.

Re: How to turn on (not off) the on-screen displays on Y580 -- IdeaPad

Hi bkahrs,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You can ensure that the indicator is enabled as shown in this article.

Likewise, open task manager and check on some start up programs from like utility.exe that may be disabled.

Others steps is to go to C:\Program Files (x86), click on LockKey to enable.

Lets us try this first and update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: How to turn on (not off) the on-screen displays on Y580 -- IdeaPad

I downloaded the HotKey referenced in the link.
Restarted the laptop, but no difference. No change to Advanced Settings.
On-Screen display still not showing for Num or Caps.
There is no LockKey displayed under c:/Program Files (x86).
Therefore, I'm still puzzled as to how to recover the On-Screen Display.
FYI: This is for Lenovo Y580, Windows 7.
