Re: IdeaPad Y710 numeric keypad question

Check this link out:

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitute/psref/ipbook.pdf

As you can see on page 14, the numeric keypad is only offered on the 4054-2CU version (for the models listed on lenovo's website).  It seems that there were older versions (before May/June) but they were superceded by the newer ones (4054 series).

 Hope that helps.

Re: IdeaPad Y710 numeric keypad question

It's just too bad that Lenovo wouldn't allow buyer to choose the model with the keypad.  I wanted to order one, but this offering machine w/numeric keyboad have a low display resolution.

Again, thanks for a quick response.  It answer my question.

Re: IdeaPad Y710 numeric keypad question

Hello,

I'm looking for a 17 inches laptop for working at home, at office and in the train, and also for music, photo and film (and sometime games). I completely agree with your wish and I want to order an IdeaPad Y710 with a numeric keyboard and a high display resolution : 1920×1200. It will be really better.

I hope Mark (the administrator) will listen to us and transmit the request to the marketing team for the annouced IdeaPad Y730.

Re: IdeaPad Y710 numeric keypad question

I agree:

My needs are:

Must have - 17" WUXGA (1900x1200), 4GB ram, 3MB cache 2.4GHz processor, numeric keypad, bluray RO DVD +/- DL write, dual 250GB disk, 5400 rpm disk

Nice to have : > 2.4 GHz, quad core, BluRay writer , > 2 hour battery,ATI HD36xx series

So low power, low resolution and keypad are not acceptable. Thanks.

PS : I need ATI graphics as I run an OS different from Windows and nvidia drivers are hard to come by.
