Ideapad P580 wifi will not work after a fresh install of win 7

Hi, I have reintalled win 7 on an Ideapad P580 and the wifi adapter will not work. It is turned on in bios, it is turned on in windows and istalled the latest driver but  I cannot get it to work. I cant even see the icon in the tray. Please help. This is the 2nd Lenovo to do this to me and I couldn't get the last one to work either.

Re: Ideapad P580 wifi will not work after a fresh install of win 7

Hello and Welcome to Lenovo Forums!

Try installing this driver version:
https://lnhttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds028977?Source=social_eservices&Medium=LITHIUM&Term=eSer...v.gy/302aHpT

If it does not work then the issue is likely with the power manager, similar to this discussion: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/Lenovo-G50-70-Wi-Fi-problem-in-64bit-wi...

Try to:

1. Install the Lenovo Energy Management (reboot if necessary)

https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/downloads/ds030145?Source=social_eservices&Medium=LITHIUM&Term=eSer...

2. Press F5 or Fn+F5 and ensure that the Wireless current status is ON then try to connect to any Wi-Fi acess point.
