Bought an ideapad y400 in April 2013 b/c it was on sale. Fell in love with it right away -- fast, graphics are beautiful, can finally play Borderlands 2. Fast forward 3.5 months and the screen stops working. Everytime the computer goes to sleep or when I close the lid, the screen would stay black and won't turn on. I try restarting and still doesn't work. I call up technical support and they say to ship it back for repair. So I did. Yesterday, I received my laptop, the screen now works. The Repair Sheet said everything is ok. HOWEVER, everything is NOT ok!!! The entire right side of the laptop doesn't work --- the 2 USB ports, audio jack, microphone jack. NOTHING WORKS. I tried rebooting, system recovery, uninstalling drivers, but nothing works. Called up tech support again and they said to ship the laptop back. The hell with that! I told them if I'm shipping it back, then I don't want it back ever again. I'm done with Lenovo. He says that he's with tech support and is not authorized for returns. The sales team is not available b/c it's after hours, so I left my cellphone number with them and he says they'll get back to me in 3 business days. I'll give them 48 hours and then I'm contacting my credit card and I'm putting in a claim/dispute. Good riddance Lenovo! Now I know why there was such a huge sale for the Ideapad Y400 -- b/c it SUCKS!
