I've had my Ideapad Y430 for about 4 months now and this is the only thing about it that perplexes me.
I have no screen saver activated. The Windows power management features have all been changed (by me) so that the monitor should not turn off ever when plugged in. Despite this, when watching movies in iTunes or online the screen (I think it might just be the backlight because I can still see the image a bit) turns off after 10 minutes. Moving the mouse turns the screen right back on, no problem.
When watching a DVD in Windows Media Player, this doesn't occur.
Given these bits of information, I'm pretty sure it's a software issue, not a hardware issue.
I don't know if this matters, but I've had my screens brightness at 100% typically, but I've just reduced it to 80% when plugged in.
Is there something I'm missing to do? This same procedure works on any other laptop. I'd like to be able to watch video without every 10 minutes moving the mouse.

it's something like this if im not wrong,
when the plug is in with the battery, it's considered under "battery"
when the plug is in without the battery, then it's considered under "plug in"
so when the plug is in with the battery, dont think it's under "plug in", it's under "battry".
correct me anyone if im wong
