Hello, for professional purposes I plan to upgrade the existing 8gbof available RAM on my laptop to 12gb or 16gb, depending on price range. I know next to zero about RAM consideration for optimal compability/performance. I uploaded two images of the currently installed RAM cards. There are still 2 slots available, could someone point me to recommended/compatible RAM cards? (If I can order it from amazon, the better).
Thank you for the support.

I'm currently considering this buy, could anyone consult me on this? (Compability/performance)
Also, is it better to have a single 8gb card rather than two 4gb cards?

Hi EJMM ,
WOuld you have the machine number similar to ones listed on the sticker or check it from the parts look up page .
Based on the model's hardware manual (page 28), RAM supported as:
Standard memory • DDR3L 1600 (Support Dual Channel) • SODIMM × 2 slots max 16 GB
Software check would at times detect 4 slots based on supported chips but not physical available slot specially with laptops that would take bulk space inside similar to this post which you can also check by opening it . This would help you verify and plan on your upgrade for 2 slot dual channeling. Likewise this video can help referencing more if you need more RAM than the 8 GB of what you already have .
Recommended OEM ram on fru listed on page 27 item 11 of the manual ordering it by FRU number to ensure compatibility .
Other users may avail of similar specifications of RAM but make sure you review possible return options just in case.
Hope this help answer your query .
Update us how it goes.

Thank you for the asistance. Following your advice I opened the back of my Laptop only to discover there are in fact only Two Ram slots available for physical Cards. I guess this simplifies the case but complicates the money issue. In order to upgrade I must buy 2x8 gb cards.

Hi EJMM ,
Mobile devices are made thinner and lightweight by limiting the physical structures (ex. RAM slots , M.2 harddrives etc) as a travelling device. Check on the RAM usage while running your applications if this would reach 100% memory usage so you may try 1X4GB + 1X8GB = mixed 12GB RAM for starters.
