So I have scoured the forums for a solution and I am starting to think that it might just be a hardware problem, but has anyone had trouble connecting their Ideapad y580 to a tv via HDMI?
I use Windows 7 Ultimate, and it has worked in the past--It just randomly stopped working and I haven't been able to figure out why or how to fix it. My NVidia control panel only has 3d Settings which is a bit weird because it looks like other people have more tiers of options. My computer was purchased near the end of 2012.
Anyone know of solutions? Would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance!

Welcom to Lenovo forums
did you try another cable or another screen ? you may also try this HDMI cable on another machine to make sure that the cabel is fine and let me know how will this go

Thanks for the quick response.
So I have used the HDMI cable with another laptop and it works with the TV we have at home, and I tried using my computer with a different HDMI cable at my sister's house but it was unresponsive still.
Could there have been a windows update or intel driver update that broke this function? It doesn't even recognize that there is an HDMI port.
