Ideapad Z500 won't start

Hello!
I bought my new Lenovo Ideapad Z500 only two weeks ago and since than it works fine, however yesterday it produced a very strange error. When I turn on my laptop it stops when the Lenovo logo shows up and freezes. The worst problem is that, it doesn't happen every time I turn it on, so when I bruoght it back to the shop, it was working fine again, and after I arrived home, it did the same error. It wasn't only a one time experience, I've tried it at least ten times, and it stopped on the Lenovo logo over and over again. I send it back to the service, however, I am curious whether I'm the only one facing with this weird issue or not. Thank you for your time!

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

 

I’m sorry to hear that the computer is hanging at Lenovo LOGO; this may be the issue with the bad sectors in the HDD, we are getting this issue for the first time. As you have sent it to the service center you need not worry the issue will be resolved.

With computer shut down, press the NOVO button located at the left side near the power plug. Select System Recovery to restore the system to factory default.

      I was wondering if you have had your laptop back from service, I seem to be having the same issue as yours and would like to know if you had some idea as to what might be casuing this issue.

Hi! They haven't sent it back so far, so I'm a little worried about it, but I will keep you informed as soon as I get it back. (It maybe takes so much time, because I live in Hungary and as far as I know, there's no official Lenovo service here, so they had to take it to Poland...)

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

 

I’m sorry to hear that your Z500 Laptop is facing the same issue and hanging at the Lenovo LOGO, I suggest you to perform the Flee Power and try to check if the issue resolves in the computer, below is the steps to perform Flee Power:

 

  • Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
  • Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.

Hi Shiva,

 

               Thanks for the advice, but how do I remove the battery? I'm assuming you are aware that there are no maintenance slots in the z500 for removal/addition of parts, including battery.
