Ideapad Z510 performance issue

Hi everyone,

I bought my Z510 notebook about 2 years ago and this problem started about 2 weeks ago. A significat drop on performance occured when playing games that previously had no problem to run smoothly. It's quite annoying because now it's impossible for my games to run fluently - instead they almost run frame by frame like I had too weak graphic card.. It happened suddenly - one day it was OK and the other everything went down.

I cannot watch YouTube videos in 1080p quality. 720p is max and if I chose higher quality, videos cannot run smoothly - the situation is almost the same like with my games. Video needs to take some time to load for about 2-3 seconds - it also lasts for about 2-3seconds.

My notebook also needs much more time to start up and switch off. It used to be a copule of seconds and now I feel like this time has doubled. In general, my PC works slower.

I scanned it for viruses a copule of times and even reinstalled Windows. Nothing helped.

What is happening? Is it because of the graphic card or is it because built-in technology making the hardware obsolete and forcing buying a new PC?

In advance thanks for You help.

Re: Ideapad Z510 performance issue

Hi Raddeck ,

Greetings.

Did you use the factory reset One key recovery to reimage everything to factory condition?

You may run diagnostics first to isolate the points of failure.

It would also help running temperature check using similar tools like this and this.

Update us how things go.

Regards

Re: Ideapad Z510 performance issue

Hi Spidey,

Thanks for You answer. This week I ran both quick and normal tests from Lenovo Solution Center. All of them did not show any malfunctions. I've also measured GPU and CPU's temperatures with mentioned programs - they were both around 39-40 Celsius deegrees and were marked yellow. Apart from that no other errors and malfunctions. Laptop still runs slowly.

Is using One Key recovery a good solution for my problems? I would not like to remove my files from PC again... What can I do now?

Please respond. Thanks.

Re: Ideapad Z510 performance issue

Hi Raddeck ,

Greetings.

One Key Recovery would delete everything and restore the computer to the factory image and everything on the PC would be deleted.

You may like to try clean boot and to disable some tasks on both start up and scheduled task.

Check if that would help.

One Key Recovery would be our last resort to separate software issue from the hardware with the graphic card and heating system as probable fault.

Update us how it goes.

Regards
