I just bought a new Western Digital My Passport external hard drive. It works perfectly when plugged into the USB 2.0 slots, but has constant disconnecting problems when plugged into the USB 3.0 slots. It'll disconnect and then immediately reconnect. I tried my brother's harddrive (same model) and it has the same problem.
Also, my Logitech MX 1000 works perfectly fine when the bluetooth receiver is plugged into the USB 2.0 slot, but becomes laggy and slow when plugged into the USB 3.0 slot.
I updated all the firmware for the devices, drivers for the USB, drivers for the intel chip set, and turned off power saving options for the USB slots.
I've searched the web for the harddrive issue and it looks like a lot of people are having them. But my mouse runing slowly worries me because its more than one device. is this a hardware problem? Any possible solutions?

Did you specificaly update the usb 3.0 drivers from the intel website, not just the chipset drivers as they are seperate.
My TomTom will not work on my usb 3.0 but works fine on usb 2.0, but i think it`s a tomtom issue.
I have a Verbatim 500gb usb 3.0 hdd and it works fine on my usb 3.0
I wonder if you problem is a WD driver problem.

Should I just uninstall everyting here? The Lenovo website has the USB 3.0 drivers and I have the eXtensible host controller driver. Do I need anything else like the USB 2.0 drivers (the Lenovo website doesn't have it).
