Ideapad Z710

Dear all,

I have Ideapad Z710 with a specifical problems. When I turn on laptop my cooler goes frantic 139 % rpm. After trying installing different OS (Windows 7, 8.1, 10) Fans never shuts down nor I can make him slowdown with some softwares, tried (notebook fan control, speedfan). I cannot see fan options except fan speed in any of those programs.

Also I cannot install drivers for my second graphic card 740m as it states that graphic card isnt available at all. And yet I see it on board and it worked until these problems with fan came up. I have been looking for the solution all through the internet and forums tried many of the solutions but nothing worked for me. Can anyone help ?

Re: Ideapad Z710

Well you cannot configure the fan speed of any laptop, only computers.

For your Graphic Card problem, did you try searching for your graphics card driver in the Nvidia Website itself? It should be available.

Re: Ideapad Z710

I have tried and installed the new ones and I have saved some of the old version of the drivers, it just says as if there is no graphic card on board at all. I cant even seem to find it in device manager.

And as for fan I know that it is uncontrollable- unconfigurable but it is really annoying as he never stops neither slows down.

Re: Ideapad Z710

Oh there is no graphic card on board at all?
Like when you go to the device manager, there's no GPU driver?

Can you give me a pic of your device manager's display adapters?

I'm suspecting a GPU failure/death.

Re: Ideapad Z710

You can actually take a screenshot of the device manager through snipping tool. Just open, take a screenshot and save. Upload it here afterwards.

Battery always showing 1% not charging? Hmmm... your laptop is really problematic. Maybe the battery is dead considering its age?
