Ideapad y530 Hinge

Today my right hidge broke on my y530, so the screen keeps flopping down and doesn't close correctly.

I would fix it myself, I'm A+ certified and do a lot of repair work. However, I can't locate any possible means to even remove the monitor, nor have I ever replaced hinges before. I tried locating some parts for it and then I tried looking for repair centers. I didn't find anything.

Can any body offer me any direction on this matter?

Re: Ideapad y530 Hinge

if you have valid warranty, contact lenovo support for replacement, if you replace hinge by yourself, you may have trouble with warranty in the future. ( void )

Re: Ideapad y530 Hinge

I've had this laptop for about 2-3 years now, so I don't think my warrenty covers that long.

I'll try contacting them anyways.

Re: Ideapad y530 Hinge

probably you don't have valid warranty, to make sure you can check your warranty.
