Ideapad z 510 , heat problem, touch pad doesnt work well

First let me show you the technical details. I have this laptop for 2 years and a half.

Im using this programm to track the temperature on my laptop. And i think what it shows is not healt.
I have worries about cpu temperature, cuz it reaches 70 C and i feel the heat.My laptop gets warm very fast even when i dont use anything to put pressure on it.
And lately my touchpad doesnt work well, and its slow at all. I mean i should press more than 3 or 4 times so it "catch" and evetually show me the command which i want to use.

Do you think that if i use coolpad for my laptop, or its the thermal paste which has to be replaced with new one;My laptop hasnt been opened before.I would like to hear your advices.
This is not the only problem which this laptop has but i noticed that wireless and battery problems are kind of common for Z510 series.
Thank you for giving your time!

Re: Ideapad z 510 , heat problem, touch pad doesnt work well

Welcome to the Forums Mons.

CPU is running very hot. Applications like tp fan control can tell you the temperature of the CPU and GPU temps above 80C under load are high, and above 90C suggest that the fan or heatsink could be clogged.

  • If you open up your task manager, do you see any processes that are consuming high percentages of CPU?
  • Also run virus scan with the latest virus definitions and check for no viruses or malware.
  • Enable Active Cooling
  • The menu option for enabling active cooling varies from notebook to notebook, but in some cases, the option will actually say "active cooling" and in others the option will say "maximum performance" as opposed to "maximum battery life."
  • Enable all power saving options for the CPU, graphics, wireless card, etc.

For Touchpad issue, maybe there's a driver setting that controls its contextual behaviour. Check in the Mouse properties. Also, go through this link for better understanding.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Ideapad z 510 , heat problem, touch pad doesnt work well

Yes its running unusually hot.
When i checked my task manager there is nothing which can cause these temperatures, just chrome and nothing which to keep such a high level on the CPU.
I use Quiet Mode , which is the best option to save battery and at all. When i checked the Power Options i did Active the system cooling policy set it both active on battery and plugged .
I think i couldnt fix my touchpad problem , so if i find any progress will let you know.
Thanks for all advices , i ll see how it goes, and ll say give my response.

Re: Ideapad z 510 , heat problem, touch pad doesnt work well

Regarding the touchpad issue, can you try updating the touchpad drivers & check if still issue persist?

Your computer needs good ventilation to avoid overheating. Make certain that the ventilation holes aren’t blocked by dust or other debris. It can be due to running a CPU-intensive program or game continuously for a long time.

If the latter is the case, you may need to take steps to provide extra ventilation, or cool the air flowing around or through your computer. Hence I would suggest you visit the nearest Lenovo service centres for better assistance.
