Ideapad z500 wake from "hibernate" using keyboard or mouse.

Hi guys,

i search a solution for the following problem. I use my laptop at my office with an external mouse, keyboard and monitor. The laptop is always closed and when i go away i put it in the state of hibernate.

now coming back and always open the laptop and press the powerbutton is annoying, because the laptop is under my desk.  Is there a solution i could wake it via mouse or keyboard?

i already ticked the box for mouse and keyboard "allow to wake up on hibernate" in the device manager.

But that doesn't work. In the bios i searched for a function allow wake on usb. but i can't find any.

can anyone please try to help me?

Dear Stormy1987

Welcome to Lenovo forums

Is the mouse and keyboard connected to the machine through USB or wireless? also please try to wake up the machine by pressing any button on the machine main keyboard and see will it wake it up or will not

Please let me know

Thanks

Re: Ideapad z500 wake from "hibernate" using keyboard or mouse.

Dear Stormy1987

You can do what you are looking forward to if the machine is on the sleep mode not in the hibernate mode

try to change the settings to the sleep and check will it wake up by the keyboard or it wont

For the hibernate mode you have to press on teh power button

Thanks

Re: Ideapad z500 wake from "hibernate" using keyboard or mouse.

yes for the sleepmode it works i know. i thought maybe it would be possible for the hibernate mode as well.

but seems like there is no chance.

Thank you for your info. At least i don't have to search anymore.
