Is a Lenovo Webcam/video recording Driver coming for Windows 7 upgraders?

One of the sad losses on the Y530 when Upgrading to Win 7 is the webcam driver and software.

Is Lenovo working on something for this?

Should I hunt for third party software?

What would be recommended?

thanks

Re: Is a Lenovo Webcam/video recording Driver coming for Windows 7 upgraders?

Hi yigit,

Yes, i tried the Vista Easy Capture driver back when I went to Win7, it didn't work.

Windows 7 Update advisor had said that Easy Capture would no longer function.

The Vista 32-bit driver in the Downloads page for Y530 shows that driver, but it's version is 1.0.0,

so I guessed it was nothing new.

Would this be the correct driver/program for the video recording part of the webcam?

I'll try it tonight though, to make sure I didn't overlook it  before.

Re: Is a Lenovo Webcam/video recording Driver coming for Windows 7 upgraders?

Okay, Loaded up Camera driver successfully.

But found no camera only software to control taking a picture.

Loaded Easy Capture and got the error message that it was incompatible with "Current Version of Windows".

However....when I clicked Okay, it opened the program, then I got a "Camera Failed To Open" Message.

I click on the Video Button in Easy capture and shot a video...it worked.

Camera though, would NOT work in Camera mode.

But after closing the program and re-opening it, the camera DID work...after getting the incompatibility message again.

So, it seems that it's just glitchy, but will function.

Thanks again yigit!
