Is it possible to replace a Z710 Keyboard?

I would like to change it for a spanish keyboard.

Do you know where i can find the part number and the price?

Thank you

Why?  There are dozens of keyboard part #s (including Spanish) listed in the hardware maintenance manual along with a section on removing the keyboard....

Re: Is it possible to replace a Z710 Keyboard?

Is there any confirmation on this?  It's of some urgency now. I can obtain the right keyboard for the system (different language--I was sent French, it should be English). I can install it. I just need to know if it will work, that there isn't some firmware (or other) trap awaiting me that would prevent it from working.

Re: Is it possible to replace a Z710 Keyboard?

Just wanted to follow up that with a little difficulty put up by lenovospareparts.com, they "let" me order the U.S. English keyboard that I should have received with the laptop in the first place.  I installed it and it works fine.

Background: In Canada, Lenovo is required (for reasons I can't fathom, since only a minority of the country is French) to equip laptops with French-Canadian keyboards, even though this isn't mentioned or shown on the sales page. These are very, very unpopular in most of Canada, especially when they come as a surprise. Some of the keys are even a different shape, most critically the left Shift.

So, for anyone reading this in the future, download the technical manual and you'll see all the possible part #s in it. In my case, the correct one is #25211293.

Re: Is it possible to replace a Z710 Keyboard?

I got it via the phone number listed at the site immediately before your post.

Unfortunately, that Lenovospareparts.com site appears to be defunct now, so I suppose the phone number is too. I don't know what Lenovo has replaced that department with, if anything, and of course, getting a straight answer out of Lenovo about this will be next to impossible.

At least via the previous message you can determine the exact part number you need (may or may not be the same as mine) and go from there, though maybe not via Lenovo.
