Is it possible to upgrade my brand new Lenovo Ideapad Y700-15ISK with an m.2 SSD?

Hey Everyone,
Is it possible to upgrade my brand new Lenovo Ideapad Y700-15ISK (LE80NV00JWMX) with an m.2 SSD? It's the version with 1TB HDD, which is terribly slow.. Sadly, the manual and different online posts I found, didn't give me a decent answer to my question, and i'd rather be sure, before I go and hastly buy something i'll regret. If its possible, i'm open for suggestions of what to upgrade with aswell (120-250gb m.2 only). For now, I was looking at the Kingston SSDNow 120GB M.2 SSD (M.2 2280, SATA 3.0, up to 550/200MB/s read/write, 150 TBW).

Hope you guys can help me, as i'm not 100% sure, if it actually supports m.2 SSD, and what version I need? (I believe its 2280, from what I researched so far, but im not sure if its only the ACK version)

Best regards,
New user ;D

Hello,
It somewhat does. Just if I understood it correctly aswell, that I could use this M.2 SSD, if I wanted?

Hi again,

The  card you listed above is not mentioned in the parts list manual -no.12 page 28

So suggestion will be to go from the listed ones or purchase from the vendor who can replace it if it doesn't work with your system.

Re: Is it possible to upgrade my brand new Lenovo Ideapad Y700-15ISK with an m.2 SSD?

Hi,
Sadly tho, all the SSD's in the part list are not sold in my country, either because we just don't sell them, or that they are out-dated. That's why I need to find out, if I can replace it with something else. An examble was just the 600p SSD from Intel, as it says "m.2 SSD - 2280" - which is the same, as the others on the part list.

But thanks anyways for your help and time - I'll study it a bit more, till I find a conclussion Smiley Happy

Re: Is it possible to upgrade my brand new Lenovo Ideapad Y700-15ISK with an m.2 SSD?

I have the somewhat same question as I have seen various answers but nothing concrete. Just want to be absolutely certain before I spend the money for the NVMe  Is it possible to use an NVMe  SSD i.e., Samsung 950 pro in this i7 laptop using Win 10?  I already have a 128 m2 (SATA?) from the factory installed along side a 1TB HDD.  What is the easiet and most direct way to clone the existing 128 SATA m2 to a new NVMe 256 m2? What are my best options?

Mine is a 80NW0010US. I think I know what will be said but more info the better. : )

Thanks for any feedback you can give.
