I have a LENOVO Ideapad Y700-15ISK.
I have successfully upgraded my SSD to a Samsung-SSD-SM951-512GB-MZHPV512HDGL.
I am tempted to upgrade also my HDD to a Seagate ST4000LM016:
...which is a 2.5-inch 4TB disk.
Problem is that it is 15mm thick and I fear that it might not fit in the space dedicated to the HDD.
Has anyone tested this? Do you know if it works?

I won't lie, mine has a Mushkin Reactor 1TB in there at 7mm, and it seems pretty cozy. The Hardware Maintenance Manual only lists 7mm drives as options:
Hard disk drive, ST500LT012 6G 7mm 5.4K 500G HDD
Hard disk drive, WD5000LPCX-24VHAT0 7mm 5400rpm 500G HDD
Hard disk drive, WD10SPCX-24HWST1 6G 7mm 1T HDD
Hard disk drive, TSB MQ02ABF100 6G 1TB 5H20G09709
Hard disk drive, WD10S21X-24R1BT0 7mm 5400rpm 1TB+8G SSHD
Hard disk drive, Jaguar B7 Refresh (6G) HTS545050A7E660 6G 7mm 5.4K 500G HDD
Hard disk drive, MQ01ABF050 6G 7mm 5.4K 500G HDD
Hard disk drive, HTS541010A7E630 7mm 5400rpm 1T HDD
So unfortunately it looks like 15mm will be requiring a lot of dremelling, glue, and will probably endure a lot of ridicule haha! Might be best to keep that drive in a USB 3.0 enclosure instead.
Have you looked into maybe putting in another 1TB SSD instead?

I'll be probably waiting but I just wanted to know if there were some brave souls out there who sacrificed for our good! :-)
For the secondary drive the option is between SSD and HDD but at the moment I have 1TB HDD, an upgrade with a 1TB SSD would make it faster, granted, but I'd like also a bigger storage for my movie downloads.
Let's see how cheaper the SSDs get.
But I'll still need to know if it physically fit into that bay.
Keep me posted if you find that out cos something tells me that Dremel and warranty ain't good friends.
