Latest Windows update 8.1 causing Power Managenement issue

2014-03-27, 12:53 PM

A recent windows update at the begining of march (07/03/2014) has resulted in the battery failing to charge, the charging/connected to mains icon in the system tray area to flicker then disappear. The battery would discharge until the power cord was removed then reattached. It would then momentarily charge then stop.

Thankfully I created a system restore which removed the following possible culprits:

KB2929961

KB2930275

KB2894853

KB2913760

KB2919394

KB2919442

KB2928680

Windows Action Centre advises the Lenovo Energy management software is no longer compatible once you install the updates.

I reinstalled the updates at a later stage having followed the reccomended procedures:

Unistall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery - Doesn't work - it reinstalls itself after each reboot. Disabling it didn't work either.

Download the latest Energy Management Software - I am Using the latest version. 8.0.2.20

Uninstalling the updates restored the battery charging function.

Can you investigate please?
