I haven't had any problems with my Lenovo Z50-70 laptop - until this week. One day I couldn't turn on the laptop; I found that I have to do a hard reset (remove battery, hold the power button, put battery back in). However, now I have to do a hard reset to turn on my laptop every time I switch it off or even sleep/hibernate. Not only it takes time, but I am afraid that one day it just won't work.
I am travelling until August, so I have no way to send or leave the laptop anywhere to get it fixed. Is there anything I can do myself?

Hi krmtb .
Welcome to the Community Forums.
I would suggest that you take the time right now to back up your files for safe measure .
Would it also be happen if you simply restart the laptop?
You may try power system checkout (page 21) to isolate adapter issue.
As soon as you shut down the machine , would any led lit up just like the power LED ?
How is it if you use the Novo button (item7 page 69) ( this would also turn on the pc offering Novo menu for normal start up and BIOS). Access the BIOS and F9 to load defaults , F10 to save and exit.
I would be ideal if give tech support a call right now so that they can have it documented on your account to inform them about the issue before you travel so if there are any probable options that you can discuss.
Running diagnostics may help .

Thank you for the answer.
I am travelling outside the US until August, so I cannot call support. The chat doesn't work either (I might be able to avoid it using proxy though, if necessary). I have no access to a multimeter to check voltage, as suggested on page 21 of the manual.
The problem is that after I turn off the laptop, the blue power led goes off. Then the laptop doesn't react to anything else than the hard reset. It doesn't react to the NOVO button either.
There are no problems when I restart the laptop, only when I hibernate it/sleep/shut down.
I downloaded Lenovo Solution Center; hardware test does not produce any errors, I'm not sure if there is anything else I can do there.

Hi krmtb ,
Clearing the hardwares integrity thru diagnostics would at least give us other leads on what may be causing this.
We can try to disable the fast start up (hybrid shutdown) to have it in favor of a full shutdown insteadto isolate power settings issue as new systems have hybrid management set on this defaults.
Update us how things go.

No, it's fully charged (100%) all the time.
Now I just keep the laptop on 24/7 to avoid this problem, I will see what happens when I have to turn it off next time.
