Lenovo Custom Program Settings - y560

http://i56.tinypic.com/w9tbpi.png

Y560

This program keeps popping up at random, most commonly when using the "M", "J", or "U' key, which makes pretty much everything painful to do. It even minimizes or creates new windows which is even worse. It also raises the volume, and turns on the "Mute" light.

Is there any way to fix this? I'm using BIOS 71

Re: Lenovo Custom Program Settings

Oh. and I've tried the following

-using external USB keyboard. Works fine. But i'm not using an external keyboard whenever I need to use my computer.
m-uninstalling Lenovo Software. Doesn't show up on list of programs.

-block all Lenovo software. Still shows up.

-updating BIOS. still doesn't fix it.

I don't have GID installed, so uninstalling that doesn't work either.

Re: Lenovo Custom Program Settings

Also, I figured out that its linked the Lenovo Energy Management software.

So I tried uninstalling it, but it said "drivers part of this program will also be uninstalled"

but now it won't even let me try uninstalling it.

I tried doing system restore, but it gives the same message.

now my "M" key acts like an enter button, and the "N" key acts like Right Mouse Button (and lower volume)

I don't know what to do for this one

Re: Lenovo Custom Program Settings

Hello mxnsxxr,

There is a topic which was discussed previously about this. You may read it here.

I understand you have done a OKR and tested it on an external keyboard but try uninstalling the GID application and see if it helps. If by uninstalling the GID application and issue still persist then contact service to get your laptop checked.

Re: Lenovo Custom Program Settings

try to re-install power management or rename/move to recycle bin that file :
"c:\program files\lenovo\energy management\start_utility.exe"

Re: Lenovo Custom Program Settings

if the suggestion i posted before doesn't work, call lenovo support line and ship your laptop back to lenovo. ( possible hardware - keyboard - issue )
