Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 Wireless Speed Problem.

Dear Lenovo,

I have recently bought a Lenovo IdeaPad Z510, after installing Windows 8.1 x64 and all the Lenovo Drivers from your Website, and updating Windows 8.1 x64 with the latest updates, I got a problem:

My WiFi Connection is at 300.0Mbps that is coming from a wireless router tp-link from a Gigabit WAN connection, but your product can't get to 100MB speediest and tops at 30MB/upload and download, my other laptop "Other Brand" tops at 100MB/upload and download.

Please advise if there is any solution to the problem, or if this is my first lenovo experience and I have to return the product.

Best Regards,

 Dragos

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 Wireless Speed Problem.

No issues with the connection rate, but it should give the 100/100 if the connection says 300 Mbit

What's the current driver version of your WiFi? Type this on command prompt below:

netsh wlan show drivers

It might be that some driver version perform worse than other versions.

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 Wireless Speed Problem.

I see. I'm sure that one came from Windows Update.

Well, try the 16.5.3.6 drivers from Intel since I saw a post that says that driver gives really good speeds. But before you install that driver, try to rollback by following the procedure below:

Remove the current drivers that you have by unistalling the Proset Wireless software on the add/remove programs. Then go to device managers and uninstall the Intel 7260 there. Make sure to exactly follow the screenshot below:

Keep repeating the procedure, making sure to delete the driver software until Windows can't find the drivers on the local drive. You either should see an unknon network adapter shown in device manager or you've rolled back to Microsoft's driver.

Then download this driver and Proset software from Intel: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23258

Test and see if you get all your internet speed.

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 Wireless Speed Problem.

My dad had an issue with his WiFI after ordering a computer from Lenovo. There is a good possible they mixed up the wires attached to the built in network card. I had to fix it myself through the diagnostics manual I found online.
